The fiance The jarring sound of metal hitting glass jolted Shaiyan awake. She had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for Adrian to come home. She looked at her phone. It was 2:30 in the morning. Her movements were sluggish when she turned onto her back and looked up.  Adrian finally returned. She quickly stifled a yawn but took her time to sit up. She steadied herself among the soft cushions. She rubbed her eyes and tried to focus her gaze on him. "Where were--" Slap! The slap echoed through the apartment. Shaiyan fell back holding her left cheek. She carefully flexed her jaw "What? Why did you hit me?!" Her voice was hollow--subdued. Adrian bent forward, flattening the palm of his hands on the glass coffee table. His car keys were between his thumbs. "You disrespected my brother and his fiance?" 'Fiance?' Shaiyan's brows lifted. "What are you talking about?" her voice shook with indignation. Adrian's eyes darkened. His impressi...

She attempted to stand, but her legs were weak. Before she fell sideways he grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap. His breathing was shallow as he looked up at her face. With his hands on her hips, he swallowed as he thought of how she could straddle him, and they could do other things in this position.

"Where ... ?" His voice was hoarse. He tried again. "Where did you want to go?" he asked.

She looked at him. She could feel his masculine aura pulling her in, and was aware of the strength of his arms as he held her. A nerve was ticking at the side of his neck. She felt a little dazed as she stared at him. "I need to pee," she breathed.

He nodded and lifted her in his arms. He brought her to the door and gently placed her feet on the floor. He opened the door for her.

"My legs," she said, her voice trembling.

"What do you want me to do?" he asked, his heart pounding.

"Help me please," she said, averting her eyes. She blushed.

"How can I help?" he asked, his voice husky.

"My ... my underwear," she said quietly.

He looked at her eyes. He could see she was feeling awkward. He took a deep breath. "Okay," he said.

Jordan carried her into the bathroom and closed the door behind them. He placed her before the toilet. Stooping down, he slipped his hands under the hospital gown, and felt for the waist of her panties, while closing his eyes. He pulled it down as she rested her arms on his shoulders. His hands lightly brushed against her skin, and she shivered. A soft breath escaped her lips.

Jordan looked up at her face and saw that she was biting her lips. Was she feeling the chemistry between them? He wanted to caress her thighs, but stopped himself.

He brought her panties to her ankles and she sat down. He was about to leave when she grabbed his hand. He watched her pee. Her eyes were closed and she had a frown on her face. She seemed to be in pain.

"Does it hurt to pee?" he asked.

She nodded. "Like a cramp," she told him. She tore off a piece of toilet paper to wipe herself. Jordan looked away from her. Lissa attempted to stand on her own, but had difficulty. Jordan reached out his hands and pulled her upright.

Bending forward, he pulled her panties up, his eyes closed. He remained crouched while she leaned on his shoulders. He didn't open his eyes until he heard the toilet flush. He straightened up and held on to her left hand to support her.

He helped her to the faucet and circled his arms around her waist while she washed her hands. The close contact of his body made Lissa want to go limp in his embrace. She resisted the urge to rest on him. Their eyes met in the mirror and her heart rate spiked as she saw the look in his eyes.

Reaching for the door, Jordan opened it and lifted her in his arms. He carried her to the bed and laid her down. She was staring at him. Her eyes dipped in a shy, demure way. Jordan wondered what she was thinking.

"Thank you, Jordan."

"You're welcome Miss--"

"Please call me Lissa," she told him.

He nodded. "I will," he said.

He sat in the chair, his expression guarded. "Are you hungry?" he asked.

She nodded. "Yeah."

He stood up. "I'll see what the cafeteria has on the menu."

He sauntered to the door. Lissa could see his eyes were now neutral, but earlier she saw passion smoldering in their depths and was enthralled by it. She wondered what it would be like to be consumed by it. She closed her eyes. She wondered what Ryan was doing right now.
