The fiance The jarring sound of metal hitting glass jolted Shaiyan awake. She had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for Adrian to come home. She looked at her phone. It was 2:30 in the morning. Her movements were sluggish when she turned onto her back and looked up. Adrian finally returned. She quickly stifled a yawn but took her time to sit up. She steadied herself among the soft cushions.
